When the choir first began, one of our founder members Val Nelson told us that she had once been inspired with the idea of a group of people who would go out into West Cumbria under the banner of 'Mark One'. She was referring to the Gospel of Mark, Chapter One, in which John the Baptist announces that his mission is to 'prepare the way of the Lord'. The organisers and members of the choir see this as our mission too.
We want the people of our area to experience God for themselves; if we can help at all in putting people in touch with Him, then we shall have fulfilled our chief ambition.
Of course, we have other ambitions too - to perform to the best of ability, providing high quality entertainment for churches, charities and anyone else willing to give us a hearing!
